  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well.
  6. Shape the dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Chill for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  8. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top of each cookie.
  11. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  12. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
